For the previous two years at iDateAsia conferences, it is clear that the Far East/Asian market for both social networking and online dating will become the most prolific and most likely the largest sector over the next decade. The idate2007 Shanghai event will focus mostly on the Chinese market for several reasons. Most of the growth we have witnessed in this sector is coming from China, espescially in Social Networking. Many successful North American based businesses have ignored expansion into this market. As a result, Chinese entrepreneurs have created their own brands, which are now quite popular in the country. For the online personal's side, While the market size is obvious, the uneven ratio of men to women being born has been documented for decades. (see here for one example). Similar to the Miami event in January, this two day Asian Internet Dating Conference will consist of morning seminars and lectures, followed by afternoon workshops. The workshops will consist of a series of 90 minute intensive lectures that are designed to improve online dating business performance. Most presentations will focus on increasing Far East web traffic and conversion rates. Language issues, cultural differences, technological developments and preferences for specific Asian countries will be covered at this event.
